FREEGAN Foundation Featured on National Dutch Television

SINT MAARTEN — The work of the FREEGAN Foundation on Sint Maarten has received national attention in the Netherlands. On Monday, August 31, the organization was featured in Expeditie Nederland, broadcast by Omroep MAX on NPO 2 at 6:30 PM.

The episode focused on social cooking and the foundation's efforts against food waste, highlighting how FREEGAN rescues food that would otherwise go to waste and turns it into meals and support for families on the island.

The national TV feature follows the foundation's recent second-place win in the 'Livelihood Security' category at the 2026 National Volunteer Awards in the Netherlands.
